Our on demand trainings are open to anyone interested in learning more, including advocates, service providers, community partners, and individuals who want to deepen their understanding of domestic violence issues. Membership is not required to access these recordings.

Introduction to Domestic Violence

In this training, you’ll be introduced to the foundations of intimate partner violence: what it is, how power and control dynamics shape relationships, and the realities shown in prevalence statistics. Most importantly, you’ll learn about the statewide resources available for support and safety.

This course is designed for anyone, whether you’re a community member, an advocate, or simply someone who wants to understand domestic violence better. By the end, you’ll have knowledge that can make you a stronger ally for survivors and a more informed voice in your community.

This E-learning Course is a recording of a virtual training conducted on April 8, 2026. This Skills Academy session explores best practices for designing and delivering programming that supports children whose caregivers are survivors of domestic violence. The session will highlight strategies for building resilience, fostering positive caregiver-child relationships, and integrating play, creativity, and trauma-informed approaches into services.
 This E-learning Course is a recroding of a virtual training conducted on June 4, 2026. Participants will be provided with a foundational understanding of key intimate partner violence (IPV) risk factors, including indicators of escalating harm and potential lethality, such as access to weapons, stalking, coercive control, and violence during or after separation. The session includes the role of survivor-centered advocacy when engaging with law enforcement and the legal system, including support during police response, protection orders, and other legal proceedings. Participants will learn practical strategies to integrate risk awareness into safety planning, strengthen coordinated multidisciplinary responses, and use tools and resources to enhance staff education and survivor safety. Please note this training will be recorded and available as an FPEDV E-Learning course.
This E-learning Course is a recording of a virtual training conducted on April 21, 2026. Economic abuse is a common yet often overlooked barrier to survivor safety. This training reframes economic empowerment as a core safety-planning strategy, not a separate service. Participants will explore how financial control, coerced debt, employment sabotage, and limited access to resources affect survivor safety, choice, and stability. Designed for direct service advocates, this session offers practical, trauma-informed approaches to integrating financial considerations into everyday safety planning conversations. Emphasis is placed on survivor autonomy, readiness, and realistic short- and long-term strategies without pressure, shame, or blame.
This E-learning Course is a recording of a virtual training conducted on May 11, 2026. This interactive training is designed to strengthen participants’ digital literacy and confidence using everyday computer tools. Whether you’re new to technology or looking to refresh your skills, this session will provide hands-on practice and supportive guidance in navigating Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail), and other common computer applications.

This training is designed to bring attention to the types of manipulation, coercion, and abuse that are non-physical, and will provide in-depth conversation on how emotional abuse and coercion can have a serious impact on survivors and communities. Participants will leave this training with the tools to identify all forms of abuse and to foster environments where all forms of abuse are taken seriously. This training is open to any community member, regardless of FPEDV membership status. This series is designed for all community members to learn more about the nuance and complexities of domestic violence, survivors of DV, and the impact DV can have on communities at large.

The content includes information and tools to effectively protect survivors during natural disasters and emergencies. Attendees will learn crucial steps to support survivor safety in times of crisis.
This E-learning Course is a recording of a virtual training recorded on May 21, 2026. Survivors of domestic violence frequently experience traumatic brain injury (TBI), yet its impacts are often misunderstood or misinterpreted within advocacy and criminal legal systems. This training explores how TBI affects memory, behavior, and communication, and offers practical strategies for advocates to support survivors while also navigating police reporting and legal processes in a way that promotes accuracy, safety, and survivor autonomy.
