FPEDV serves as the leading statewide voice advocating for public policy that protects survivors and prevents domestic violence. Each year, we engage with lawmakers in Tallahassee to champion legislation that strengthens safety, promotes justice, and improves the systems that serve survivors and their families.
We believe the most effective policies are shaped by those closest to the issues — advocates, survivors, community partners, and service providers like you.

How It Works
All legislative requests submitted through this form will be reviewed by FPEDV’s Advocacy Committee. This committee- made up of leaders representing Florida’s certified domestic violence centers and other statewide partners and advocates- helps guide our public policy platform by identifying which issues best align with our mission and strategy.
After review, selected ideas may be recommended for inclusion in FPEDV’s legislative priorities or supported through other statewide advocacy channels.

Please note: submitting a request does not guarantee that FPEDV will take a formal position on your idea, but every submission will be carefully considered.

We welcome requests related to:
-New or amended state laws
-Changes to public systems or funding mechanisms
-Repeal of harmful or outdated statutes
-Budget priorities that affect survivors or the DV field
-Policies impacting service providers, legal processes, or survivor access to justice and safety
Your request can be rooted in lived experience, professional insight, or community needs. All perspectives are welcome.
